Startups Start with a “Hey,” Not a Pitch | Networking IRL
Great startups don’t start in boardrooms. They start with a beer and a bold idea. See you August 7 in NYC. 🍻
Let’s be real — most great startups don’t begin with a pitch deck.
They start with a “hey.”
Sometimes followed by “wait, what do you do again?”
And often powered by caffeine, chaos, and questionable WiFi.
But before we get into that — here’s a quick story.
So imagine this:
A founder walks into a bar. He’s there to “network” (a.k.a. hover near the drinks and pray someone speaks to him first). He rehearses his elevator pitch in his head for the 47th time.
He’s about to introduce himself when… disaster strikes.
His sleeve knocks over someone’s beer.
It spills everywhere.
The person turns around. It's a VC.
The founder panics.
He blurts out, “I’m building an AI tool to detect incoming spills before they happen.”
They both laugh. 😁😆
Ten minutes later, they’re brainstorming features.
Six months later? They’ve got a product, a team, and a waitlist.
The moral of the story?
Startups don’t start with slides. They start with showing up.
That’s what Startup+ is all about. RSVP now before its gone like the last event…
We’re back on Thursday, August 7, and this time, it’s going to be even better — more wild ideas, more high-signal people, and yes, possibly more spilled drinks.

What you won’t find:
❌ Long-winded panels that make you check your phone
❌ Someone cornering you with a sales deck
❌ “Let’s circle back” energy from people doing… nothing
What you will find:
✅ Founders who’ve broken things just to rebuild them better
✅ Builders, tinkerers, investors, dreamers
✅ Real talk, real drinks, real momentum
✅ That one convo that makes you rethink your whole product
If you're launching something, stuck in something, quitting something, or just vibing your way through the chaos — this room is your kind of chaos.
If you’ve made it this far down the email, you clearly need this event.
Come for the startup vibes, stay for the unpredictable Jenga games, niche tech jokes, and that one guy pitching an AI for dating apps… again.
Seriously, it’s going to be fun. We promise.
Unless you like panels. Then… maybe not.
See you on August 7.
